| Latency introduced by a proxy server is caused by inspections performed by multiple applications that are either stand-alone or loosely coupled. For example, many vendors scan traffic through gateway point products multiple times—once for viruses, once for URL filtering, etc. Some SaaS solutions also create the same problem: many vendors are moving point products into the cloud and labeling their service “SaaS.” Because the solution is still not integrated, significant latency still exists. |
