RSA 2018 Preview

With the advent of each new technology conference, you can’t help but wonder if it will be all hype—the latest dog-and-pony show—or if it will have real substance and longevity. You don’t have to wonder about RSA. Twenty-six years ago, RSA arrived as a small cryptography conference, and today it represents the largest gathering of cybersecurity professionals, attracting an estimated 45,000 this year. So, we hope you’re excited for 2018, because we are! With a week full of activities inside and outside the conference, hundreds of speakers, and plenty of social gatherings, RSA can be tricky to navigate. We encourage you to register for the RSA virtual session on April 10 to help you get the most out of the week.

For now, we’d like to share with you a few of this year’s attractions that we’re particularly excited about. And, of course, we’ll fill you in on the best ways to connect with Zscaler.

The Cryptographers’ Panel

Tuesday, April 17, 9:20 a.m.

RSA began as a small cryptographer conference in 1991, and this session represents RSA’s continued focus on discovery. The panel includes several founders in the field, offering their unique insight into the past, present, and future of information security.

Kirstjen Nielsen, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security

Tuesday, April 17, 10:05 a.m., Main Stage

Curious how the DHS strategizes to keep the United States protected from cybercrime? Be sure to be in the general session as the Honorable Kirstjen Nielsen takes the stage.

Closing Time with The Hugh Thompson Show

Friday, April 20, 1:00 p.m.

Back by popular demand, Dr. Thompson will close the RSA Conference and will be joined by an expert panel with representatives from the MIT Media Lab, UC Berkeley, and Udacity. The topic? Artificial Intelligence. Don’t miss it!

Insiders’ Tips

Remember that registration is only at Moscone West this year, and all pass types will be available there. We’ve also heard there will be a selection of San Francisco’s best food trucks on the streets around Moscone, so be sure to check out Mission Street and Howard between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
