Building a Life-Changing Sales Career at Zscaler

For over a decade, Rob has been a driving force for Zscaler in the Northeast U.S. As a key leader, he has been instrumental in developing his territory, building a consistent pipeline, and recruiting and developing channel partners to create a world-class go-to-market strategy that defines our success in the region today.

The Power of Partnership

In enterprise sales, the partnership between an Account Executive and a Sales Engineer is critical. Rob’s 17-year collaboration with Consulting Sales Engineer, Mike Ruiz, is a prime illustration of this principle–a strategic force that embodies our ONEteam culture and has been instrumental in securing major accounts.

But their partnership goes beyond just strategy; it’s built on a shared passion for Zscaler’s mission. Early in their tenure, they secured the very first “ZSCALER” license plates in New York and Connecticut! In a tradition that continues to this date, Rob gives away Zscaler swag to any Zscaler representatives who spot his car throughout New England.

A Culture That Inspires

For Rob, his belief in Zscaler's mission is so profound that it inspired his own family. His passion for the company’s mission and culture was so evident that his oldest son, Robby, joined Zscaler's very first intern class. Several years later, his youngest son, Scott, also joined Zscaler, launching his own career journey as a Sales Development Rep. in our Boston office. When your passion for a company's culture inspires your own children to want to be a part of it, it speaks volumes.

My journey at Zscaler has been amazing and life-changing in so many ways. It’s a wonderful community and culture.

A Decade of Impact

From building go-to-market strategies and developing channel partners to mentoring the next generation, Rob's influence has left its mark. 

My advice to anyone exploring a career in sales is to find a product you can be passionate about. At Zscaler, you’re not just selling a solution; you’re selling a platform that fundamentally shifts how businesses operate securely. The conversations will change and that's when you build trusting authentic relationships making for a successful and rewarding career.

Rob's journey from pioneering a territory to mentoring the next generation is a testament to the long-term career growth possible at Zscaler. Thank you Rob for your incredible 10 years of service, leadership, and passion–and being the ultimate champion of our culture.
