Zscaler and Samsung Demonstrate Comprehensive BYOD Security Solution at IFA Berlin 2013
Berlin, Germany, September 06, 2013
Zscaler, the industry’s leading secure Direct-to-Cloud Network provider for global advanced security and policy enforcement, today announced a joint demonstration of Zscaler Mobile Security on Samsung KNOX during IFA Berlin 2013.
Samsung KNOX is a comprehensive mobile solution for work and play. Samsung KNOX addresses the mobile security needs of enterprise IT without invading the privacy of its employees to reestablish the line between work and play. Together, Samsung and Zscaler are delivering a comprehensive BYOD security solution by combining containerization technology with Zscaler’s Direct-to-Cloud Network.
“The line between consumer devices and corporate environments has been blurred by the proliferation of smartphones in the enterprise, but organizations still struggle to implement effective BYOD security policies since appliance-based solutions were not developed with mobile environments in mind,” said Jay Chaudhry, founder and CEO, Zscaler. “The Zscaler Direct-to-Cloud Network effectively manages the complexity of mobile environments by enforcing security policy for any user on any device from its more than 100 global data centers.”
Security and operations teams struggle to manage and secure heterogeneous mobile environments and hyper connected devices. On-premise appliances cannot provide adequate insight or control for mobile users outside the enterprise, and deploying and managing multiple corporate security applications for malware, content and access, on each device is complex, cumbersome and prone to error. MDM solutions can provide the first step in deploying and provisioning corporate applications and data on mobile devices, but they cannot fully address the risks of advanced threats, such as malware, phishing and rogue apps.
