Zscaler Successfully Participates in World IPv6 Day
Sunnyvale, California, Juni 08, 2011
Zscaler, the leader in cloud security, today announced its successful participation in “World IPv6 Day” on June 8, 2011. This 24-hour “test flight” for websites and services offering IPv6 supportis sponsored by the Internet Society (ISOC). Zscaler’s participation underscores its commitment to support eventual customer migration to IPv6 as required by market and business needs.
IPv6, the successor to IPv4 (the protocol currently used on the Internet), was designed in the late 1990s but has not yet seen broad deployment. IPv4 addresses are limited and growing scarce, forcing an eventual transition to IPv6 to deliver the address space required by ever-growing global Internet connectivity. World IPv6 Day provides an opportunity to test IPv6 readiness across industries, and to lay the groundwork forthe eventual large-scale IPv6 adoption.
“Zscaler's cloud security solution has always been architected to scale –we secure billions of customer transactions daily, and we have the scale and capacity for billions more," said Patrick Foxhoven, VP of Operations at Zscaler. "Our participation in World IPv6 Day is in keeping with our commitment to scale and growth, and we are happy to help prove out the viability of IPv6 for our global customers and ISP partners."
As a cloud-delivered solution, Zscaler continues to invest in IPv4 to IPv6 transition strategies to ensure full compatibility with customer and partner networks.
