Zscaler, Inc., the leader in cloud security, today announced that Amit Sinha, a seasoned entrepreneur and technology leader in the security and wireless networking industry, has joined the company as Chief Technology Officer. Dr. Sinha served as Fellow and Chief Technologist of Motorola’s Enterprise Networking and Communication business. He was the CTO of AirDefense, the market leader in wireless security, acquired by Motorola in 2008. Prior to AirDefense, he served as Co-Founder and Chief Technologist at Engim, a Wi-Fi semiconductor company. He has authored over 25 papers, contributed chapters to three books, and is the inventor of 19 US patents granted or pending. He received his S.M. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his B.Tech. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology where he was awarded the President of India Gold Medal for graduating summa cum laude.
“We are delighted to have Amit on board,” said Jay Chaudhry, Zscaler CEO. “Markets are moving rapidly and mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets are playing a bigger role for enterprises and consumers. Amit’s expertise in wireless security will enable us to leverage Zscaler’s cloud infrastructure for the next generation of hassle-free, device-agnostic, mobile security.”
“It is an honor to join the Zscaler team, at the cutting edge of cloud computing and security,” said Dr. Sinha. “As we enter the mobile era, the traditional appliance or end-point agent model for security is ineffective. Zscaler’s multi-tenant, distributed, and scalable SaaS infrastructure is uniquely capable of delivering secure mobility for users, regardless of where they are and what device they are using.”
