Zscaler Named Top Private Cloud Company in Forbes Cloud 100

What a summer it has been for Zscaler! Shortly after we were named a leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant — recognition that came on the heels of the Morgan Stanley CTO Award for Innovation — I am excited to say that Zscaler has been named to the Forbes Cloud 100.

We came in this year at number 13, a healthy jump from our 2016 position at number 25, and we are honored to be included among the top companies shaping cloud computing.

I cannot help but think back to 2008, when we started Zscaler. Cloud computing was taking off, and SaaS companies were the darlings of the technology sector. Amazon Web Services was emerging in the nascent on-demand infrastructure market, but most companies would never have considered putting their security in the cloud.

Fast forward to 2017, and there are four cybersecurity companies included in the top 20 of the Forbes Cloud 100, all born in the cloud. This shift illuminates the degree to which security has become integral to the larger cloud computing story.

It is gratifying when influential and forward-looking publications like Forbes, and organizations like Bessemer Ventures and Salesforce Ventures, affirm our belief that you need to deliver security in the cloud to protect business in the cloud. But it’s especially inspiring to hear this same belief echoed in nearly every customer and partner conversation I have.

And when customers and partners talk to me about cloud security, the conversations go well beyond policy enforcement and threat prevention. They tell me how Zscaler has enabled them to transform their IT operations to support major initiatives like Office 365 or SD-WAN — initiatives that could never have moved forward without a scalable and agile cloud platform securing their users wherever business takes them and wherever their applications may reside.

I’d like to congratulate our colleagues and partners that were included in this year’s Cloud 100, and I’d like to thank Bessemer Ventures, Forbes, and Salesforce Ventures, once again, for this honor.
