The SSE Accolades Keep on Coming

image

Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) has been grabbing many headlines in the IT world over the past few years, and for good reason. It helps organizations better support today’s flexible, location-agnostic working practices by combining various networking and security capabilities and providing a pathway to the adoption of zero trust principles.

Although widely recognized as a goal to aim for, a number of organizations are choosing to start their journey with Security Service Edge (SSE), which is most simply described as SASE without the network re-architecting. SSE can sit on top of an existing network and immediately provide zero trust secure access to internet (SaaS) and private cloud applications. You can think of SSE as the fastest way to adopt zero trust with minimum disruption.

Zscaler is a long-standing pioneer and leader in SSE, and today offers the largest, most mature, and scalable SSE platform on the market, with 150+ data centers worldwide processing (at the edge) more than 320 billion transactions, blocking 9 billion security incidents and policy violations every day.

But don’t take our word for it. Industry research firms consistently recognize Zscaler as a leader in SSE, and three recent reports further extend our track record, demonstrating the power of our unique approach to zero trust.

  • IDC calls out the reliability and performance of the Zscaler cloud¹ in the convergence of networking and security—Network Edge Security as a Service (NESaaS)
  • Dell’Oro singles out Zscaler as the market share leader in SSE,² the security side of the secure access service edge (SASE)
  • ISG points to Zscaler as a pioneer in the SSE market,³ focused on business risk and value as well as deep, context-led investigation

These reports provide valuable insights into emerging trends, market predictions, key challenges facing today’s CISOs and enterprises, and much more. See for yourself with complimentary access to all three reports.

1. “IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Network Edge Security as a Service 2023 Vendor Assessment” By: Pete Finalle and Christopher Rodriguez, June 2023, IDC # US50723823
IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of ICT suppliers in a given market. The research methodology utilizes a rigorous scoring methodology based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria that results in a single graphical illustration of each vendor’s position within a given market. The Capabilities score measures vendor product, go-to-market and business execution in the short-term. The Strategy score measures alignment of vendor strategies with customer requirements in a 3-5-year timeframe. Vendor market share is represented by the size of the circles. Vendor year-over-year growth rate relative to the given market is indicated by a plus, neutral or minus next to the vendor name.
2. “2021 & 2022 Market Share Leader Award for Security Service Edge (SSE)” Presented by: Dell’Oro Group, September 2023.
3. “ISG Provider Lens™ Quadrant: Cybersecurity – Solutions and Services | Security Service Edge (SSE)” by Information Services Group, LLC, June 2023.
