Sprint today announced the launch of Sprint Secure Web, an “as-a-service” cloud-based security platform to provide businesses secure access to the internet and cloud-based applications. The service is powered by Zscaler, a widely recognized industry leader in cloud security solutions.
Technology and the need for mobility are driving businesses to rely more and more on the internet and cloud-based applications for company operations. However, accessing the internet and company applications can be a security challenge, especially if users bypass premise security systems in the process.
Sprint Secure Web addresses this challenge and delivers superior security for an organization via the world’s largest security cloud. The service provides users policy-based internet access and offers real-time, inline protection from malware and other, more advanced threats.
Locating the security stack in the cloud brings the internet gateway closer to the user for a faster experience and enables organizations to realize the many benefits of cloud and mobility. Because it is a cloud-based solution, Sprint Secure Web will always have the latest security threat protection software.
“Sprint Secure Web delivers a solution that allows businesses to address real vulnerabilities and security challenges – so much of their network and operations tie directly to the internet,” said Mishka Dehghan, vice president of product development for Sprint. “This solution offers superior protection for their locations and employees with all the benefits of the cloud for speed, flexibility and service. “
Benefits of Sprint Secure Web include:
“Zscaler provides secure, direct internet access for today’s mobile and cloud first world,” said Al Caravelli, vice president of worldwide global alliances and channels at Zscaler. “Sprint Secure Web combines Zscaler’s industry-leading platform with Sprint’s managed network services expertise and commitment to exceptional care to offer business customers the best experience in cloud-based security.”
Sprint Secure Web is part of Sprint Secure, a comprehensive suite of industry leading security solutions for business networks and mobility. It complements the Sprint SD-WAN offering that was announced in 2017. Sprint’s SD-WAN solution improves the overall experience and simplifies network management. Its centralized management and software-defined policies select the best path to route traffic to the internet, cloud applications, and the data center.
Additionally, Sprint announced the launch of Sprint Secure Private Access. Another Zscaler cloud-based platform, it provides users full, secure access to internal company applications without the dangers of giving access to the entire network. Sprint Secure Private Access offers the same benefits of cloud-based simplicity and flexibility and is ideal for providing access to company applications to contractors, partners and temporary employees.
Sprint will offer both Sprint Secure Web and Sprint Secure Private Access in a subscription model to deliver security cost-effectively so businesses can purchase the services they need now and easily add more as needs change.
