Cenitex Deploys Zscaler to Deliver Secure Services for More Than 36,000 Users in 450 Locations

Zscaler, Inc., the leader in cloud security, announced that Cenitex, the Victorian Government’s information and communications technology shared services provider, has adopted the Zscaler^™ cloud platform to secure IT services for more than 36,000 Victorian public servants across 450 offices in the state of Victoria.

Zscaler bolsters the organisation’s Program Fortify which is transforming the agency into a cloud-first organisation and improving the resilience, reliability, responsiveness, scalability, and security of its core networking and hosting infrastructure. 

“Zscaler has been a game changer in the way we are able to deliver services to our users,” said Nav Pillai, Director of Digital Transformation, Cenitex. “Rather than deploying cloud security from legacy firewall vendors, we chose Zscaler’s cloud-based platform to protect corporate-issued devices wherever they are connected to the internet and give us near-instant scalability capability to support new users.”

Zscaler has helped Cenitex transform its traditional networks into a modern, software -defined and cloud-based infrastructure. The Zscaler platform supports Cenitex’s use of cloud-based applications to deliver secure and scalable services throughout Victoria, including support for Office 365, and provides improved reliability and network load performance no matter where users connect.  The Zscaler cloud also protects users of the Victorian Government’s Guest Wi-Fi.

“As user internet traffic no longer has to be routed through the Cenitex data centre, application performance has improved. We are seeing significant improvements for our Office 365 users and other internet-based applications,” said Pillai.

The Zscaler cloud-based security platform provides Cenitex with a fast user experience while simplifying complexity by reducing the need for centralised management of firewalls and other complex security tools with manual security updates.
